Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Ginak — 29 Sep 2016
I loved this film. It is typical of the eccentricities the British love – the extraordinary in seemingly normal people instead of unrealistically buff comic-strip characters – beautifully directed by Tim Burton with much more emotion than he usually manages in his films.
The story was complex but clearly told and the acting by children and adults alike was excellent. And the cinematic mixture of fantasy and “reality” was delicious and completely believable. I don’t consider myself a Tim Burton fan, although I have seen many of his films, but he is winning me over.
