Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Scraper — 05 Oct 2016
Burton is just trying too hard anymore. There's no more human dialogue or action. Everything has to be incredibly magical or absurd. From Batman to Edward Scissorhands, the concept that made those movies great was the contrast between reality and fantasy.
Also, did you ever notice that everyone cast for Burton films now has to have the largest, beautifully colored eyes? He needs to knock that off. It's not enchanting. It's retarded. Poor guy. He's another in a long line of artists who has become a caricature of himself.
