Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Galen Z — 19 Feb 2017
Moving and ... peculiar, which I consider a huge win. Like most fantasies, especially those involving time travel, it does not hold up against critical thinking. However, if you are willing to suspend disbelief, I found it hugely enjoyable, with wonderful styles, an emotional depth on par with, say, Edward Scissorhands, and largely without the silly sort of humor found in most other Burton films.
