Review of Miss March (2009) by Jason D — 07 Aug 2009
Two of the guys that make up the comedic ensemble that does The Whitest Kids U Know (Trevor Moore & Zach Cregger) went and wrote, directed, and starred in this small gross out comedy about a young man (Cregger) whose finally ready to have sex with his girlfriend (the okay looking Raquel Alessi) on prom night but winds up in a coma for 4 years until finally receiving a rude awakening from crude best friend (Moore).
After finding out that Cregger's girlfriend is now a playboy playmate, the two best friends embark on a road trip to L.A. for the annual Playboy party at the Playboy mansion. Needless to say, they go through a series of slightly comical to hilarious events including killer firemen, encounters with their good friend and world famous rapper Horsedick.
MPEG (Craig Robinson who is pretty funny in this), explosive poopy, and the enraged warpath of Moore's girlfriend (Molly Stanton, whom I found to be more engaging than Alessi). Yeah, this film is low-grade comedy that may seem like random junk you'd expect from National Lampoon who put similar stuff like this out every week.
The upside is that this film is done by two people who are actually funny and manage to infuse a lot more comedy in it that I'm sure most people wouldn't expect to find. There are definitely funnier movies out there than this, but this is certainly not as bad as I thought it was going to be, especially after a rough 20 minute start (Don't be alarmed with the weird voiceover parts every time the "crackhead" word is used.
They originally were saying retard but people bitched and moaned and they changed it. Retard would have been funnier). Worth a watch for brainless popcorn entertainment comedy.
