Review of Miss March (2009) by Ellen G — 31 May 2010
You've got to give it to these two. The head writers and actors of a fairly unpopular tv show,The Whitest Kids U Know, decided to make a movie that's basically an extended sketch. Miss March has a small demographic, and anyone else is probably not going to like it. Miss March follows a man who is about to lose his virginity on prom night, before he slips and falls, sending him into a four-year coma. When he wakes up, he finds his girlfriend in a Playboy pullout. His friend convinces him to find her at the annual Playboy party. His friend,a man obsessed with the magazine, accompanies him so he can get into the Playboy mansion. Along the way, they make enemies with firefighters and a rapper who was previously a friend.
Fans of the television show, like myself, will appreciate the bizarre and immature script. Otherwise beware. The acting is as expected. Craig Robinson is superb,as a rapper named Horsedick.mpeg.
Miss March is a strange film. There's some lines of legitimately funny dialogue, couple with immature and unfunny physical humor. I don't recommend this film to anyone but fans of the show. If you're really interested, watch the show instead. Clips are on YouTube. I liked the film, but I doubt anyone else will.
