Review of Miss Grant Takes Richmond (1949) by Michelle S — 27 Jul 2007
Lame! Lame! Lame! Lame! Lucy's schtick doesn't work the same magic on the big screen as it does on TV- as usual. The humour is derrived entirely from jokes about how much she can get in Holden's way without knowing it.
This film had William Holden backed by character actor legends James Gleason and Frank McHugh as fail-safe insurance and somehow it still stunk on ice. The 'cute' rescue scene at the end was especially gag-worthy.
