An well-paced take on the prolific poet, author, and self-appointed cultural guardian Yukio Mishima. Having been inspired by the man's life and views, I can say this movie is a fitting depiction of his life.

While the actor playing Mishima could have put one more muscle for the role (as Mishima was an amateur bodybuilder), he does capture his fervor...especially in the final act. Also, it has one of the best scores I've heard in recent memory.

This review of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) was written by on 20 Dec 2008.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters has generally received very positive reviews.
