Review of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) by William L — 20 Dec 2008
An well-paced take on the prolific poet, author, and self-appointed cultural guardian Yukio Mishima. Having been inspired by the man's life and views, I can say this movie is a fitting depiction of his life.
While the actor playing Mishima could have put one more muscle for the role (as Mishima was an amateur bodybuilder), he does capture his fervor...especially in the final act. Also, it has one of the best scores I've heard in recent memory.
