After the famous writer of the romantic Misery series has a car accident in the mountains, he gets rescued, nursed and kept hostage by his #1 fan. She not only forces him to write a novel in which Misery rises out of her grave, she also breaks his ankles with a sledge hammer as soon as he tries to escape.
A thrilling scenario well done by Stephen King.
