Review of MirrorMask (2005) by Rob C — 12 Oct 2009
The animations were great here. It was amazing the way they moved and talked. Sometimes they went overboard and it turned cartoonish at times. I also had trouble following along with the plot. I had to rewind some parts again, but once I got it, the story was pure magic.
The characters involved were filled with such imagination that you really thought you were in a dream. A really random one at that. At times, it reminded me of a psychadelic Wizard of Oz. The basis of the film is just the animations, with not that much action involved.
Basically it was all for show, but it works out just fine here. Mirrormask is all fantasy with such creativity that I hope they make sequels to it like The Neverending Story.
