This was a difficult movie to watch and get into. The basis for the story is solid and similar in many ways to Pan's Labyrinth...however the quality and experience are very different. MirrorMask digs a lot deeper into the imaginary world.
The graphics leave a lot to be desired. The computer animation makes this movie look like a high school computer project. Whatever the goal was, it comes off looking bad. The music is horrible. It manages to distract way too much.
The acting by the young girl is solid, but nearly good enough to make up for the rest of this. I would advise against this unless you are looking for something extremely different.
