Review of MirrorMask (2005) by Adam G — 25 Jun 2008
Making Sin City look like a children's crayon drawing, Mirrormask takes aesthetic style to a whole, incredibly fantastic new level. And combined with the awesome script by Neil Gaiman with some fantastic setpieces, great performances by the likes of Leonidas and Brydon, and a penchant for going dark barely seen since the golden age of 1980s children's fantasy films, this makes one film that could potentially have been nigh-on perfect with a more weighty story.
