Review of Mirror Mirror (2012) by Fred F — 26 Aug 2012
We got two versions of Snow White this year, one very serious and one that didn't take itself seriously at all. Mirror, Mirror is the latter and it was 95 minutes of fun, campy fairy tale. It delivered line after memorable line, most of them coming from Julia Roberts' way over the top turn as the Evil Queen. She looked like she had a good time with this and was perfect for the tone this movie set.
The lines she didn't get came from the dwarves, who carried the movie when Roberts was not on screen. The movie was weakest in the absence of both but fortunately that didn't happen very often. If you're looking for a fairy tale with a lot of fun then Mirror, Mirror is your ticket.
