All visual and not much substance. The characters and overall end product seem to travel this weird line between a sort of Mel Brooks type parady, a colorful kids flick and intentionally quirky adult fare.

Instead it just kind of moves around without any lasting impact. Although it may strike a much stronger chord with the kids in the crowd, I found that it didn't take long before watching it even became essentially a background distraction to whatever else you could find to pass the time until the credits.

I wanted to see this one simply for curiosity sake, but my expectations were actually fairly subdued going in to it. It didn't do much to surpass them, or even meet them. In my opinion Snow White and the Huntsman was the better film of the two.
