Thank god that no one involved in this project took themselves seriously. This is very reminiscent of The Princess Bride. There are really no over the to special effects, the costumes are not impressive, the cinematography is mediocre.

What saves it is the performances. Everyone involved clearly does not take themselves seriously and have fully accepted that they are just having fun. Sadly this could have not been made and no one would have missed it.

In fact it probably shouldn't have been made. Imagine doing J Edgar and then following that up with Mirror Mirror. Doesn't look good on a resume.
