Review of Mirror Mirror (2012) by Panta O — 21 Aug 2012

After reading so many bad reviews about this fantasy film based on the fairy tale "Snow White" by the Brothers Grimm, I finally set down to watch it! Directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, and Sean Bean, this version of the old tale was innovative, visually nicely done and watchable from the beginning to the end. I won't be carried away and start praising it but sometimes critics are going overboard in finding faults that they miss the good points! It is a kid and parents friendly movie which will entertain the family for 1 h 35 min - and that's it!

Many complained that there is nothing new in this version - after so many versions made it is hard to find something untouched previously! Interesting dwarfs, humorous characters loving adventure, intense action... all that without too much depth - perfect for the new generations! And for some of us oldies - not a bad viewing either.
