Review of Miracles from Heaven (2016) by Gary G — 24 Mar 2016
Go and see it! I don't know if I have given 5 stars before, but this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. May go back next week. Only people who won't enjoy it are those who don't like people talking about religion, but it even has a special Easter egg for them in it.
Script was not only well written, but it is constantly surprising. Even though I thought I knew where the story was going. I didn't. More good ideas here than you typically see in three other good movies.
Pay attention to the end speech by Jennifer Garner about miracles. Some great performances and not just by Garner. The children were amazing (especially after the disappointing child performances in Young Messiah but not just saying this because many Christian movies have such weak acting.
) Eugenio Derbez as Dr. Nurko should be nominated for best supporting actor. His character is both funny and tragic in ways I can't remember seeing before. More emotional impact here than in most of the other movies I will see these year put together.
