The one made back in the 1940's is probably the better film, but if there is one thing in this version that I liked more than the original, it's Richard Attenborough's portrayal as Santa Claus, It never felt like a performance.
It felt like he was the charming, upbeat, dedicated and kind-hearted character. As a little kid, that was what I thought Santa was like.
