Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Keegan D — 24 Aug 2009
I wouldn't classify this as a war film. There are so many deeper themes at work here that the battle scenes take a back seat to the soldiers' struggle with their place in the world and their battles with each other.
Long...yes. Would I cut it down...no. I think we actually needed more time to get to know these men and understand them. Yet the story really didn't lend itself well to that. Either way, this is definitely well worth the time.
