Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Jc E — 18 Feb 2009
Lee tries to achieve too much with this film, and it ends up coming off as incoherent and less than genuine. With the exception of Miller, Lee fails to pull convincing performances from his leads, and doesn't even begin to utilize the talents of the other actors that make brief appearances.
As with several of Lee's other films, he tries too hard to push the racial agenda instead of focusing on the story, thus bogging down what could have otherwise been a decent film.
