Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Pete C — 23 Feb 2009
Worth a rental, this DVD has many attractive qualities including action, a cool plot, and even a hint of a ghost story. Entertaining with lots of kinetic segments, this WW2 film centers around 4 members of the 92 Inf. Div., the Buffalo Soliders; the action takes place mostly in a village in the hills of Italy with some time spent in NYC.
This one was underrated, similar to director Spike Lee's 2006 "Inside Man," another good flick. IMHO Lee knows how to tell a story and uses beautiful cinematography here. I liked it.
