Spike Lee is one of America's most talented filmmakers. At his best (Do the RIght Thing, Malcolm X) he has made some of the greatest movies of all time... even at his worst (25th Hour, She Hate Me) they're still films worth seeing.
This is a jumbled mess... but an important story to be told, and great performances by Laz Alonso and the consistently underrated Derek Luke hold this somewhat together. It has its flaws and the overbearing score take away from it, but in the end - after sitting on it for a few days this is a 'middle of the road' Spike Lee Joint but still a damn good movie.
