Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by David P — 30 Mar 2009
I'm not usually a fan of Spike Lee films, but this is the second one in a row that I have really enjoyed (the other one was 25th Hour with Ed Norton). Great performances by little known actors. Well developed and interesting characters, and a little mystery thrown in to keep you guessing.
Yes, it is a war movie - so it's violent. But it is also beautiful and thought provoking - especially when it comes to how we interact with one another as human beings from different cultures.
