Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Katherine L — 18 Apr 2009
As a war story, it told a pretty interesting tale of this one squadron with a seemingly trivial keepsake that winds up keeping them all connected. The ending felt a tad rushed, and I found some of the cameos completely unnecessary.
The acting was overall very good. I don't know why this movie didn't do so well. Probably the 2 1/2 hour running time. Director Spike Lee does make some necessary insight on racism given the context of the film, but I think it gets done reasonably.
