Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Simon R — 01 Jun 2009
This was a tough one. Cinematography, story and score were great. Very mixed acting performances throughout. Overall, was a good rental. If you're expectations were high, you'll be disappointed, if they were low, you'll be pleased.
I'm a spike lee fan, but I think he could have done a better job with casting and the screenplay dialogue. Obviously, Spike is sharing a story that has not yet been told about the 92nd Infantry, an all black army unit in WW2, which in and of itself is noteworthy and commendable. I just wish it was better executed.
