Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Joey L — 04 Jul 2009
Miracle boasts a strong opening for the first 20 minutes or so until that kid Angelo shows up... The premise of black soldiers forced to remain behind enemy lines by their lieutenant until they find a Nazi is intriguing, but the story's adventure ends there; again, that kid takes over the movie and brings narrative progression to a halt.
Also, why is it, even in a war film, the only kind of white guy Spike Lee ever likes to focus on is Italian? He just can't get over Italians!
