Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Johnathan M — 07 Jan 2010
This is what happens when a talented filmmaker has good intentions and isnt able to translate them into a great movie. Long and drawn out movie with a hokey ending thats more cheese than it is tear-jerker.
The positives of the movie are that it did have some heart and there was good interaction between some of the characters, but at just under 3 hours this movie needed more than that. At times this movie was a a bit too light in tone for what was supposed to be a serious topic.
This made me never able to take the movie seriously. Secondly, some of the acting and dialogue was just wretched. Spike Lee dropped the ball with this movie big time.
