Where the hell was the miracle?? I was completely lost and the entire time I kept thinking something good was gonna happen. In fact I was just confused. This was depressing and long. VERY depressing and long. At first glance I really liked this movie and then I thought about it. If one was to analyze this, one would discover how bad it really was. Grant it, Spike Lee did not have the budget of Speilberg or Clint Eastwood but I could not stop laughing at the fighting scenes, where you see someone losing a foot BEFORE the grenade was thrown. It was never explained why the dude shot the other dude in the postal office and the movie was far too long to make one remember who the guy was that got shot once you got to the end. The Chocolate Giant and the Sleeping Man, I didn't get the connection. Was that connected to the miracle that never existed? What was the purpose of the nudity scene? Why did the German guy at the end of the movie turn all good? Especially the entire time Spike Lee was shouting, "Nazis bad." Why does Spike Lee constantly have to shove the racist references down our throats? I get it, racism was bad even if you went to war to fight for a country which still held racist beliefs. The closeups of the German uniforms was over the top. I get it, Nazis are bad (see earlier point). The Chocolate Giant was a complete rip off of Lenny for Mice of Men. Dude the movie was shot in Italy, do you know how beautiful Italy is? Neighter do I. The scenery should have been taken advantage of. No, instead there was a dark cloud and a dark presence. Why in the world can't The Wire's Omar make it through one movie or tv show without dying. STOP KILLING OMAR! Sorry that was a personal thing :(.

However, I will say the relationship between the fat guy and the boy made this movie watchable and tocuhing. But this also bring another reason why I didn't think the ending wasn't as strong as it could have been.

SPOLIER: If Chocolate Giant would have been the one who lived instead, that was have made for an asweome reunion with the boy at the end. I also did like the twist with the traitor.
