Review of Miracle at St. Anna (2008) by Teena T — 24 Nov 2009
Not a bad war film from a fresh perspective where faith, race, politics, and humanity come to hand. With the Spike Lee touch, the film follows a group of Buffalo Soldiers and a special Italian boy as they maneuver behind enemy lines, taking refuge in the Tuscan mountains.
Included in this bunch is the spirited soldier Train who carries along with him a â??miraculousâ?? statue head that becomes the headlines years later when one of the war vets mysteriously shoots a man in New York.
It is this storyline that keeps you wondering as to what is going on and how it all connects. This is a different kind of war film for sure.
