Review of Miracle (2004) by Stephen C — 02 May 2009
Okay, so apparently Kurt Russell got Herb Brooks right, and kudos for that. And yes, most of the history seems mostly accurate, and the hockey is at times exciting. However, the movie never really explains several of the plot elements (most notably, but not limited to, Brooks' coaching style).
The movie feels rushed to get to the last sequence, and it glosses over too many cultural, political and historic aspects in the process. It gets three stars instead of two-and-a-half because it's just a Disney movie aimed mostly at kids.
