Review of Miracle (2004) by Adam D — 13 Jan 2008
Sure, it's inspirational and hits every note it's supposed to hit, but it still feels a little washed out and impersonal. I felt no real bond with any of the characters, because the way everything was filmed hung back so far from any actual moments of bare humanity.
Yeah, it gets the job done. No, it's not always just about the details. In just directly retelling the story as it was, it turned out kind of grossly pointless and unfocused. I truly felt I was playing the part of spectator.
Spectator to a great event? Sure. Tell me again why this is one of the "best sports movie[s].".
