Review of Minstrel Man (1944) by Ron M — 23 Aug 2015
As noted before, the score is top-notch, including the 'cameo/guest starring' of john raitt the year before 'carousel'. benny's way with a tune here is heart-tugging and in feeling with the plot, which is not as bad as some have commented, and is more than adequate in keeping with the time it was filmed and the period it represents.
(so there, you old farts.) gladys george is, as always, great in anything.
