Review of Minority Report (2002) by Stefan G — 11 May 2013
This is a movie that got way too much good press. In fact, it's about as overrated as Inception. It may not be as long, but it's certainly way too complicated, and tries so hard to needlessly complicate the plot even further, but I guess that's what those pretentious Hollywood critics like.
The movie does know how to set up the story, and how to explain what's going on, but I think it spends too much time portraying a horrible, horrible world than entertaining. Also, I don't like that Tom Cruise is yet another emotionally scarred action hero.
One last thing, the visuals look good, but the setpieces look too unrealistically futuristic. Why hire futurists for something you can accomplish with your own imagination, or is Steven Spielberg running out of imagination?
