Review of Minority Report (2002) by Josh L — 18 Aug 2012
Finally, some originality, and not some cheesy Blade Runner copy. Spawning from the enticing stories told by Phillip K. Dick, is yet another adaptation that greatly expands itself as an excellant transition from writing to film.
What started of as a vague, remarkable idea has now become one of Spielburg's greatest films and possibly the greatest Sci-Fi film of the 21st century! The film is almost flawless aside from one or two plot holes.
The cast is outstanding left and right. Tom Cruise practically defines what it means to be a protagonist, Colin Farrell is just dead on in playing a religious detective, Max Von Sydow is surprisingly captivating, etc.
(In other words, the cast is perfect!) Even after a decade, Minority Report boasts some of the best special effects ever to be seen in motion picture with such convincing CGI that doesn't really appear to be flashy but consistently blends in with the background of the set, making it the most accurate depiction of a futuristic Sci-Fi setting to date.
(Only to be slightly topped by Prometheus and District 9, nearly a decade later.).
