Review of Minority Report (2002) by Danny R — 20 Feb 2012
Steven Spielberg's complex, intelligent and engrossing futuristic thriller which takes place in Washington D.C. in the year 2054, Tom Cruise in a superlative and physically commanding performance plays Chief John Anderton the leader of an elite police unit who uses seers called "Pre-Cogs," three psychic beings who have the gift to see the future and predict murders before they can occur, Anderton and his unit then arrests the suspects.
But the controversial program is under fire by the Feds, which have sent a young arrogant investigator Danny Witwer, well played by Colin Farrell in a solid performance to watch over Anderton and his program, to make matters worst someone has framed Anderton for murder, making him a wanted fugitive on the run.
Spielberg's impeccable direction along with Janisz Kaminski's eye-popping cinematography have created a visually stunning motion picture with dazzling visual effects, and amazing action sequences.
Exceptional supporting performances by Max von Sydow and Samantha Morton. Another must-see winner from Spielberg. Highly Recommended.
