Review of Minority Report (2002) by Peter N — 04 Aug 2012

A faithful adaptation of one of my favorite sci-fi stories. Minority Report is an intense futuristic thriller featuring one of Tom Cruise's more convincing performances. I've always felt that one of Steven Spielberg's weak points is his depiction of the future.

I have a strong hatred for his other big-budget future film (A.I.), and that hopelessly bleak atmosphere is evoked in this one as well. An interesting premise, tight script, and enough plot twists to keep the audience thinking overcome the dark and dull setting.

This is one of those movies to keep on hand for the times when a group of friends find themselves sitting around your house with nothing to do.
