Review of Minority Report (2002) by Janika Maria B — 28 Mar 2013
The world of "Minority Report" is both fascinating and kind of messy. Some major world-building elements pop up for just one scene (Why tiny police spiders? Who cares, just go with it!), and it's easy to poke holes into some of the plot details (Anderton's eyes, despite being a fugitive, still activate the retinal scanner?).
.. But whatever. The art direction is crammed with detail, and this is one of the more realistic sci-fi worlds in recent memory (Much of the technology on display has been invented in the last 10 years).
The plot is twisty-turny, the action sequences appropriately thrilling, and the cast is really, really great. "Minority Report" is a fun ride with pathos and intelligence to boot.
