Review of Minority Report (2002) by Vasco M — 28 Sep 2013
Minority Report features good performances by most leads - especially Cruise - but some other performances, such as that by Max von Sydow, are nearly painful to watch, either because the acting itself wasn't good or the script and character that Spielberg envisioned was too cliche and boring.
The world of 2054 is convincing and fully realized. The story often drags on and feels irrelevant, and while a lot of effort clearly went into making the plot 'complicated' in search of meaningful twists, it ultimately collapses in itself since there isn't weight put into important details.
Some wit and humour is included, but it frequently falls flat. With awesome special effects and very unique action sequences, the movie manages to be entertaining throughout its runtime.
- Provides some comedic relief.
