Review of Minions (2015) by Dugdawg — 26 Jan 2016
I bought this movie for my son after seeing the toys everywhere. I had not seen the Despicable Me movies and so did not have much context for what this movie was going to be about. That said, my wife and I were surprised at how violent the movie is - there is even a torture segment - and there are many times where the characters refer directly to trying to kill each other.
The whole concept of the minions is that they want to find an evil boss to worship. I did not find the movie kid appropriate for my 3-year-old, and I found the humor and plot lacking for adults. So I'm not really sure who this movie is appropriate for. The minions speak mildly amusing gibberish mixed with recognizable words from different languages thrown in randomly. That's the only good thing about the movie. But after about 45 minutes of incoherent minions and an incoherent violent plot, we were ready to be done. I guess buy the toys and do yourself a favor and skip the movie.
