A slightly amusing prequel that could essentially be pieced together by its collective trailers, "Minions" turns out to be merely an excuse to string together a lot of good 1960's pop culture references (and music which, strangely enough, was the highlight of the film) to give the parents something to chuckle at when they watch it with their kids.
