Review of Mindhunters (2004) by Tyler M — 16 Dec 2007
I guess we found out his weakness: bullets.
Why?
The Story: A group of FBI profilers on an island/military training ground find themselves being stalked by serial killer. The only way to catch the killer? Profile each other and kill themselves... That really is the most logical answer. Cinematically it's nothing to write home about, script-wise it's nothing spectacular, and it's overall just plane uncreative. The death scenes range from mediocre to laughable, and the story ranges from predictable to cheap, sometimes even predictably cheep. There's much better alternatives.
The Cast: Val Kilmer, LL Cool J, Christian Slater... There's more to the cast, but they're unimportant, because they're not incredibly famous, and they're not good actors... Val Kilmer is Jake Harris, the boss, the man in charge, the mediocre actor that should have quit acting after Batman. A boring performance here. LL Cool J is Gabe Jensen, he's black, so he's the odd man out here not only ethnically, but story wise, as he plays a guy just sitting in on the training. Do you really think I'm going to have anything good to say about this terrible performance? Christian Slater is J.D. Reston, he's the team leader on the island, and gives a forgettable performance... Seriously I almost posted this review without him in it, because I actually forgot he was there.
One to Five Scale: 1.
Go watch Identity... It's better on all fronts.
Tyler.
