On rare occasion you can see the Guillermo del Toro we know and love, but as a person who commented below me said, studio intereference along with 2nd unit directing slaughtered this film. It was a great watch, but if you didn't know anything about del Toro when this was released(i.
E. You liked Blade II or Pan's Labyrinth and want to check out more del Toro flicks) don't start here. This is so bogged down by the previous given reasons that you would have to have a very open eye to see the real del Toro shine through.
