Review of Mimic (1997) by Joanne H — 29 Jan 2009
With this little piece of trash cinema I am convinced there isn't ever going to be a good Guillermo Del Toro movie. The closest he'll ever get will be Blade 2 which was decent. He's just too damn boring.
There's no dynamic lighting, no emotion from his actors, no interesting camera work. It's a static film and I was bored to death. He didn't even direct the plot well. It could have worked.
It could have been great, but then Del Toro's name came up and I knew I would be sorely dissapointed.
