Review of Mimic (1997) by Bill B — 19 Jan 2012
Only being able to remember the main set pieces from the film the extra stuff in the DC didn't make much difference tbh.
At this point I haven't listened to the comm track, but the 'Reclaiming Mimic' featurette does point out some of the extra stuff.
I always liked the film from when I first saw it on LD (which I still have) many years ago.
Visually intriguing, Del Toro makes a film that holds your attention, despite the script being only okay and reviews of it being boring.
I would have liked more of the initial story of the disease to have run longer in the beginning of the movie, but it is ultimately about the resilience of nature and our complex to play God.
Good to rewatch after all these years on BD.
