Simply sappy! if you enjoy a predictable Hollywood tear jerker even though I did not cry, then this is your movie. I am shocked that this both won best movie and best actress for Hilary Swank. Her portrayal of a loving daughter who is willing to do anything for her trashy family and to generally be a people pleaser is over the top nauseating.

the only time she is redeemed of her goody two-shoes personality is when she refuses to give her mother power of attorney and spits out the pen she is supposed to use to sign the documents while she remains paralyzed in a hospital bed.
