A masterpiece! Clint Eastwood produces, directs and stars in this smashing drama of a boxing trainer who takes a struggling female under his wing. This is no ordinary underdog tale. Hilary Swank is terrific as Maggie Fitzgerald an Oscar Winning performance, you see her struggle, and determination.
Clint Eastwood proves that he is the perfect mentor and no doubt gave a great performance as the serious Frankie Dunn, who then develops a father complex for Maggie. Morgan Freeman won an Oscar for playing Eddie, the man who inspired Maggie and helped her get to where she was.
His narration was very great and helped set the tone of the film. Overall the film is great, triumphant and ultimately tragic. Eastwood sure knows how to put together great films.
