Review of Million Dollar Baby (2004) by Angelo T — 20 May 2012
One of the select cream of the Clint crop, so cathartic the experience of this story unfolding into the deepest dilemmas of life and death seen with a lucidity and truth that is almost as rare as great voice-over narration, which this film also has in the form of Freeman's monotone factual telling of what brings these characters together.
No easy sentiment, just a level-headed gaze at these people, as they do what they have to do.
