Review of Million Dollar Baby (2004) by Aaron V — 09 Nov 2013
One of the more depressing movie experiences available, despite the talent of performers, camera and post production polishing. Think The Karate Kid or Rocky with a twist of tragedy. Leaves a there's-no-justice-in-this-world aftertaste.
Not to mention the depiction of clergy as insensitive jerks and church as a dead end for redemption and forgiveness. The moral dilemma at the end is still complex enough to go along with the struggle over what to do, even for those categorically opposed to the notion.
