Review of Million Dollar Baby (2004) by John C — 10 Aug 2014
Gaspingly moving and downright heart-wrenching, this sports drama earned the veteran cast 3 Oscar nods, winning two along with a best picture nod. Every minute of this film, fast and slow, shows the true compassion for the love of the sport along with the everlasting ties of the friendship between a teacher and student.
Eastwood again directs a magnificent heartfelt movie that is both family friendly and can attract all ages of all kinds. The plot focuses on how sacrifices are made in order to find the true value in life.
True colors are spilled from each character when nothing else can be sacrificed by the end of the film. Million Dollar Baby will make you feel paralyzed from the neck down as your eyes cannot leave the film due to the spectacular screenplay and heart put into this unforgettable adventure.
