Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Tommy M — 20 Feb 2009
The film is well crafted and well written, but there isn't really any driving force or motivation that sucks us into it. It's a classic example of a movie that has a lot to display, but once it's over, there isn't much more to say other than "I saw it.
" This simplicity is more acceptable for the Coen's dark comedic style, but not so much when we're dealing with violent gangs.
