Review of Miller's Crossing (1990) by Marcus F — 11 Mar 2009
My favorite film, hands down. I can watch this one any time. The dialogue, sets, acting, costumes, color, and characterizations make this movie one of the best ganster films ever made. It has a balance of hard core bloody violence and great lengths of crackling speech that make this gangland a unique place to visit for a couple hours.
Watch it for Marcia Gay Harden's first role ever and J.E. Freeman's Dane character, one of the best thugs on screen with the best, badass lines. The language really makes this amazing. You'll be asking people, "what's the rumpus?" in no time.
